Pop Up Theatre | Johannesburg, South Africa

The theatre is a competition proposal for a pop up theatre and market space that would inhabit the street after hours. The project proposed lightweight timber structures which would unfurl in the evenings to inhabit the space, housing foodstalls and bars amongst other things.

The project inhabits the space under the overhead bridge on Berea Road in downtown Johannesburg and forms part of the revitalisation effort of the Maboneng precinct. An up and coming arts district in the heart of downtown Johannesburg.
